... is an initiative started by Fondazione Siena Jazz (Italy) and the Jazzinstitut Darmstadt (Germany) as a collaboration of European jazz archives. We hope to include other national jazz archives in this project in the near future.

Our objective is to make available the sources and resources documenting the European jazz history. We want to provide researchers, students as well as musicians and jazz fans with information about the development and the reception of jazz in Europe.

In the long run we hope to make our databases available for online research, enable and facilitate research, information exchange and a public discourse. We also hope for exchange in musical activities, workshops, concerts, festivals. This website is a first step, things will develop from here.
